Born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida, Lauren spent her summers on the St. Johns River, swimming and sailing. Before law school, she spent a year working for her father, Barry Bobek, a respected Jacksonville trial attorney, as a law clerk. Through clerking, she learned the importance of giving every citizen access to the courts to plead their cause.
During law school, Lauren served as President of the Florida State Law School Student Bar Association. She worked to make sure every student's voice was heard. She also worked for the Public Defender's Office in Leon County, Florida as a Certified Legal Intern. There, she realized her passion for defending the accused. Upon graduation, she moved to Orlando, Florida to work for the Ninth Judicial Circuit's Public Defender's Office. She fought zealously for six years and tried over forty cases. By the end of her tenure, she was handling drug trafficking, sexual assault, child pornography and burglary cases.
Before leaving the PD's Office, she applied for the Board Certification examination in the area of Criminal Trial Law. To apply, you must have at least twenty-five trials. Certification is awarded only after passing a written examination and intensive peer review. In Fall 2017, she received her Board Certification in Criminal Trial Law, making her an expert in the field and in the top tier of Florida's attorneys. In October of 2019, she successfully defended a murder case in Orange County and her client walked free after two years in and out of jail waiting for trial. In 2022, Lauren was recertified as a Florida Bar Board Certified Criminal Trial Attorney.
In December 2016, Lauren tried a civil theft case as second chair in Duval County and began a gradual shift towards civil litigation. Finding much of her skill in the criminal courtroom carried over into civil defense, Lauren joined Webster Law Group in September 2023. She brought her enthusiasm for litigation to a tried and tested team of litigators and is excited to use her varied trial advocacy skills in the field of civil defense.
When she is not advocating for her clients, she is traveling with her family, skiing or swimming depending on the season, and trying not to kill her houseplants.
